Old Bull and Fog

It’s been shot a thousand times. The solitary old Bison bull and fog, or rather steam coming off. Yet I had to have it. Photography, even still at this point, is a bit of a trophy hunt. Especially when it comes to animals. Some photographs are iconic, and it’s still a bit fun to find them and take them. I started off early as usual, and it wasn’t long before I found a lowland with plenty of early morning fog, or steam (as you really can’t tell in Yellowstone which is which). Regardless, a few bulls were steadily grazing their way toward the fog and all I really had to do was wait for them and blast away at 20 frames per second. The real difficulty was editing all those pictures for the perfect body language and pose. The legs separated but not blurred. Tail not touching his butt. Horn and goat tee perfectly visible in silhouette.
