Rock Tree

There are some places in this world where it is just a pleasure to drive through them. Point Reyes is such a place. My eye has caught this tree many times. The first time I actually thought it was an oak growing out of the rock. But if you look closely you can see its actually growing behind the rock. One fine day about 7 years ago, we were coming home from Pt Reyes

Station and the cows where out grazing in front of my Rock Tree. I pulled over and asked them to pose so I could add some depth to the image and they politely complied. I didn’t immediately think black and white when I was taking the picture but when I tried it later in post, the contrast was just too good to resist. I like it when modern is applied to anything but.
