The Clump Tuscany

“Wow, look at that clump of cypress trees.” Said my father as we drove through the Tuscan countryside. “Let’s take a pic.” We pulled over along side of the road in the middle of nowhere south of Sienna. 14 years ago, this was a little-known pull out that we stumbled upon. It had been photographed for sure, but today, thanks again to Instagram, you will find about 100 tourists out there taking this very same picture every day. It is iconic Tuscany so who can blame them. As I perused my folders of pictures, I came across this one and despite having seen it a thousand times on travel brochures, movies, Instagram, etc. it still stopped me in my tracks and I “instantly” pulled it up in PS and put a soft focus filter on it. Very seldom do I come across pictures that I took 14 years ago and get excited about them. They are usually, “..without originality…” and this one is no different, but when I look at it, I am instantly transported back to that lovely pull out in the middle of nowhere, Tuscany.
