The Rare Pollock Bird

As I said before, “…Timing is everything..” And some would have said that my timing was bad for the vast amounts of white birch within Acadia. However, when I rolled up onto the edge of this bog and found the naked white birch providing a dramatic back drop for the explosion of maple color, I think that my timing couldn’t have been any better. My photographic style as such has really taken a turn for the modern/minimalist. You can certainly see Mr. Pollock’s influence here, only I prefer some structure within my lines. The white birch tree glow had come and gone leaving only those lines to lift the color off the page. Some hikers proceeded to ask me exactly what I was photographing oblivious to the insult of the question, and I replied, “It’s the rare Pollock bird!” She looked at me, pointed her phone in the same direction, and snapped a picture. I can only hope she is still searching that image for that elusive bird.
