JOHN A. SIKITA

artist photographer philanthropist

You would think that since all the hard work is done, it would be easy to create a photo book? Especially just for the photo’s you posted in one-year 2018. But there are color corrections for print, fonts to pick, layouts to choose from, etc. etc. 2018 was also a busy year, filling over 80 pages with images, and stories. As I reread through my diatribes, I discovered that some of my stories were fitting of the quality of photography.  Then I got to other stories that made me wonder exactly how many bourbon’s I had before I hit the “publish” button on my blog. I haven’t posted as many stories this year.  Not because I don’t have the photographs…I have plenty of those, but rather I should think that a photograph without a good story usually results in soulless art.  The a-typical snapshot.  No, I think a person only has so many stories to go around and that is the ingredient with which their life is made. I am lucky enough to usually have a picture to remind me of my tales, and when I don’t, I go looking for one. I hope you enjoy this book, and better yet I hope it reminds you of a story of your own.

Remember, all proceeds from the sale of these books and prints will go straight to the National Park Foundation. So, pony up.
