My bum back has me in arrears again, and quite frankly even if I was 100% I think I’d still be just too busy to go out and bag some new images. So, we delve back into the archive. It’s been 5 years since I was in Iceland. All told, I really did not enjoy myself (see Ice Glass). Maybe it was the terrible weather, or maybe the “tourists.” Regardless, I soldiered on and did my best to make something out of nothing. I took many images and seen some unforgettable sights. But, alas, I don’t feel like I did Iceland justice. Maybe the sights were just too much to capture on pixels. Or maybe, I need to go back and take some more time remembering that the very reason tourists are there is because there is still hope for this world. This image from 2016 is from the famous black sand beach. I was praying for an incredible sunrise but was only given about 10 seconds of color in a driving rain. Despite not getting what I thought I wanted, I look at this image today and appreciate the composition, color, and luck I had that morning.
