It’s one of my favorite little sayings. I cant say why, other than maybe because it’s so bad and cliché. My wife made me a namesake t-shirt to wear on the plane as a joke, and surprisingly, I received a few compliments. Some may say it was pity on a guy past his prime, shirt a little too tight on his Dad body, and obviously a bit too excited to drink weak rum cocktails on a beach by the ocean. Nope, I choose to believe that they really liked my shirt. Life truly is how you interpret it. Belize is a tough coast to photograph because the break is about a mile off the coast which means there is very little movement in the water. This makes beach shots boring. I had really been struggling when a friendly pelican decided to fly right into my picture as if to say, “…this is the shot dummy…” And it was. The long exposure only allowed for a couple of frames before he flew off, but I swear he looked down at me and shouted, “You better Belize it!”
